Ål in Hallingdal is a cycling destination with varied touring opportunities for all levels - from paved country roads and idyllic gravel roads to challenging mountain trails and flow paths built specifically for mountain biking.

Fishing

Imagine roasting self-caught mountain trout over a campfire by a quiet mountain lake or river, surrounded by majestic mountains and fresh mountain air. In Ål in Hallingdal you'll find around 50 fishing lakes.

Ready for a different round of mini golf? At Topcamp Hallingdal you can play adventure golf through 12 unique holes, each inspired by famous places and sights from Hallingdal. A fun and atmospheric activity for both young and old, right in the heart of the holiday area.

Trail cycling

If you like speed, flow and technical challenges, Ål offers some of Norway's toughest trails. Here you'll find both machine-built flow trails and natural mountain trails with spectacular views.

Frisbee golf

Hallingkast Frisbeegolfpark is one of Norway's most accomplished and fun frisbee golf courses! This 18-hole course is scenically located on the west side of the Hallingdalselva river in Ål municipality, and has already become a favourite among both experienced players and beginners.

Alpaca hike

At Tveitehaug farm in Ål, you can join an alpaca walk, where you get to walk with a leashed alpaca through forest, pasture or mountain terrain, depending on the season. You'll get up close to the animals, and after the walk you'll be able to pet, cuddle and feed them.

Visitor farms, studios & studios

Experience real, living agriculture and the cultural landscape of our mountain regions through a visit to a visitor centre, farm or mountain farm. Here you'll meet animals, people and traditions that provide an insight into life in the countryside - as it was in the past and as it is today.

For those who enjoy the combination of warmth and fresh mountain water, Ål in Hallingdal offers unique sauna experiences throughout the year. In Ål, you'll find three saunas: one high in the mountains with panoramic views, and two by the river near the town centre.

Dog sledding

Bouldering

Buldretanken is a small, self-service bouldering gym in Ål, designed for those who want a quick, flexible, and social climbing session. Here, you'll climb on a Kilterboard, a digital bouldering wall used worldwide, and you can try the same routes as climbers both in Norway and abroad.
