Tuesday 6 October at 19:00, author and journalist Bår Stenvik will give the lecture Who controls my feed? at Ål library. The lecture is about algorithms, social media and who actually decides which content we see.
Friday 9 October at 19:30, Margit Myhr and her band are coming to Sprang. Here, the audience will hear tunes from Hallingdal with new lyrics written by Frida Ånnevik and Sigmund Løvåsen.
Ceramist Kjell Johannessen is exhibiting ceramic sculptures at Galleri Syningen from 10 October to 22 November 2026. The exhibition presents work with a strong and distinctive idiom, where classical elements meet free, modern expressions.
Saturday 10 October at 16:00, you are invited to a concert with students from the Oslo National Academy of Opera. The concert is part of the Young Development series and puts young singers in the spotlight.
Sunday 11 October at 19:00, Linda Eide is coming to Storesalen with Språksjov. With her on stage she has pianist Sjur Hjeltnes and senior consultant Halvor Folgerø, in addition to a local guest who will be announced later.
On Tuesday 13 October at 12:30, Henning-A. Frantzen will give a lecture in Storesalen. He will take a closer look at a changing world, featuring geopolitical unrest, increased defence budgets and a Europe that must take greater responsibility within NATO.
From 16th to 18th October 2026, Storhelg i Hallingdal will be organised, a folk music festival featuring courses, concerts, dancing and festivities. Throughout the weekend, young folk musicians from various parts of the country gather for tuition, ensemble playing and stage experiences at Torpo and Ål.
Sunday 18 October at 15.00, the Storhelg i Hallingdal 2026 folk music festival concludes with the celebratory concert Meister og elev (Master and Pupil) in Storesalen. Here, around 80 young participants will meet the teachers they have been taking classes with throughout the festival.
On Tuesday 20 October at 13.00, Riksteatret is coming to Storesalen with Unanswered Call. The performance is based on Nora Dåsnes’ award-winning graphic novel and is about adolescence, friendship and finding meaning after the terrorist attacks of 22 July.
