Leveld Church

Leveld Church was built in 1880 and was designed by architect Fritz von der Lippe, who was also responsible for Ål Church. The church is located on county road 244 in Leveld and has been an important focal point for the village since it was built. The altarpiece depicts the crucifixion and was painted by Christen Brun.

Leveld Church is an active parish church, used regularly for services, normally two to three times a month. The church also serves as a meeting place for funerals, weddings, baptisms, confirmation classes, church groups, and concerts. The church sanctuary seats approximately 200 people and is known for its warm wooden interior and a style that reflects 19th-century church architecture in Hallingdal.

In Leveld sokn, several different types of main services are held throughout the year. These include High Mass with communion, service without communion, simplified service with or without communion, as well as folk music services where the local musical tradition has a natural place in the liturgy.
