Artificial intelligence has developed rapidly and in recent years has become both a key geopolitical resource, a scientific breakthrough and a tool that can be used by authoritarian states.

The development is already challenging how we think about economics and politics, but also larger questions related to, among other things, love, rights, consciousness and ethics.

In the lecture, Jacob Wulff Wold takes a closer look at how artificial intelligence works, and at the technical, political and philosophical opportunities and challenges that come with the technology.

Jacob Wulff Wold has worked on AI policy in Norway as an adviser at the think tank Langsikt. He has also worked for two years as a political journalist in Brussels, where he specifically covered EU technology policy. He holds a Master of Science in Applied Physics from NTNU with a specialisation in artificial intelligence, and has published opinion pieces in publications including Aftenposten, Morgenbladet, Klassekampen and digi.no.
