Margrethe Stang is a medievalist specializing in Norwegian painting of the High Middle Ages, and is Associate Professor at the Department of Art and Media Studies at NTNU.
In the lecture, she will use the Torpo baldachin as a starting point, where two female figures represent the Church and the Synagogue. She will discuss the ideas behind the images and why these motifs are placed there.
