Love Tenderly is based on Tony Tran's own upbringing as a gay boy in Norway, in a Catholic family with a Vietnamese background. Through dance, sound and light, his experiences are made visible: desires and scars from prejudice and racism, and traumas that have accumulated over generations. The performance highlights both the psychological and social consequences - but also the liberation that gives the power to ask the big questions: Who am I? And if I am, how many?
The performance explores identity, belonging and self-understanding, and allows the audience to get close to an artist who uses the body as a tool to share experiences with universal resonance.
