10 things to do in Skarslia at Easter

Easter at Skarslia Ski & Toboggan Centre offers active days for the whole family. Here you can alternate between speed on the slopes, tobogganing, trips in the mountains and Easter activities for both young and old. Below, we have compiled 10 highlights at Skarslia during Easter 2026.

Norway's largest water park

For many, the toboggan run in Skarslia, Norway's largest toboggan centre, is the main highlight. The lift takes you to the top, for the ride back down at full speed. Here, both children and adults can feel that drop in their stomach. This is an activity that is just as fun for the little ones as for those who never quite grew out of enjoying speed and excitement.

2. EASTER EGG HUNT IN THE SKI SLOPE

Sunday 1st Easter Day from 10:00 AM, there's an Easter egg hunt in the ski slopes. More eggs will be hidden around the resort's four slopes, from the children’s slope to green, blue, and red. Both young and old can search here, regardless of skill level. If you find an egg, it's yours.

3. Easter Dinner, 3 courses

Good Friday, 3rd April at 7:00 PM, Skarslia invites you to a 3-course dinner buffet in the cafe. After a long day out, this is a great opportunity to gather the family around a good meal. The menu includes mushroom soup, slow-roasted lamb leg, and dessert. For children, chips, sausage, and dessert will be served. The dinner costs 600 kroner for adults and 150 kroner for children. Bookings can be made in the cafe or by email to post@skarslia.no.

4. Meet the Easter Bunny in the children's ski area

On Easter Eve at 1:00 PM, young and old can meet the Easter Bunny in the children's slope. For many children, this is one of the major highlights during Easter, and a lovely addition in the middle of a day on the slopes. It's guaranteed to bring smiles, hugs, and a small surprise.

5. Easter Quiz in the Cafe

On Easter Eve at 3:00 PM, there will be a quiz in the café. After a few hours out on the slopes, it will be nice to gather inside for an activity the whole family can join in on. The quiz is designed so that both children and adults can participate, with questions suitable for different ages. There will be a prize for the winning team.

6. Take the Easter nature trail

Throughout the Easter period, you can walk the Easter nature trail at Skarslia. This is an orienteering course within the grounds, where you follow a map and answer various questions along the way. Can you complete the course? All children who finish will receive a lollipop. If you want to test the Easter nature trail, just ask at the café. There, you'll receive both a map and information before you set off on your walk.

7. Easter colouring, games and fun

During all the Easter days, there will be Easter colouring, games and board games in the cafe. Here, children can take a break between outings, colour Easter motifs and enjoy indoor games. It offers families a great opportunity to vary their day a little.

8. Mountain hiking trip

Did you know that Skarslia rents out snowshoes? Skarslia is located in one of Norway's most beautiful mountain areas, with plenty of fantastic hikes in the immediate vicinity. One of the favourite hikes is Vardehovda, where you get a fantastic view of both Reineskarvet and Hallingskarvet.

9. Cross-country skiing

There are few things that create more of an Easter atmosphere than a cross-country skiing trip with mulled wine, Solo, Kvikk Lunsj, and perhaps a waffle at one of the cabins in the area. From Skarslia, you can strap on your skis right outside the door and head out onto freshly prepared trails. If you take the lift up, you'll enter directly into the trail network that leads onwards towards Reineskarvet, among other places. Along the way, you can take a break at Bergsjøstølen, Reinekiosken, or Fagerdalen Støl.

10. After-ski

Thursday 2nd April to Saturday 4th April, you can round off the day with après-ski at Skarslia. There will be music, a cafe, and an open bar, and the offering is open to both children and adults. This makes après-ski a lovely way to end the day on the slopes together.
