This little gem of a hike offers a big reward for minimal effort. From the lakeshore at Bergsjø, you quickly ascend into higher terrain and are greeted with panoramic views of some of Norway’s most stunning mountain ranges. It’s a great introduction to the area or a peaceful trip with coffee in your backpack and a camera in your pocket.
Car park
Park at the large parking area just before Bergsjø Mountain Apartments. A parking fee may apply.
Hike description
Walk to the end of the parking area and continue over to Bergsjø Mountain Apartments. By the water, take the trail that turns to the right. From here, follow a clear path through gentle terrain, close to the lakeshore.
After about 500 meters, the trail begins to climb. This short ascent quickly brings you to the top, which offers a stunning viewpoint with sweeping views of Hallingskarvet to the west and Reineskarvet to the north. From the summit, you will find beautiful photo opportunities in every direction, so consider bringing a camera or binoculars.
