Trail riding in magnificent mountain scenery
From the end of June to mid-August we offer Hestur rides daily from Skarslia. The tours go into Skarvheimen's lush mountain areas and offer fantastic views, fresh air and at a pace that allows you to take in the experiences along the way.
Choose from:
- Short trip (approx. 1.5 - 2 hours) - perfect for beginners & children
- Half day tour (approx. 3-4 hours) - a great introduction to mountain riding
- Day trip (approx. 6 hours) - a full-day experience with lunch in the mountains
- 3-day tour around Reineskarvet - A highlight for the adventurous!
Riders of all ages are welcome, but children must be self-sufficient on horseback. For day trips, a minimum age of 8 years is recommended. If there is capacity, we also offer rental rides for children (up to 6 years).
Horse riding camps and special tours
Hestur also organises horse riding camp for children in weeks 27 and 28 - a whole week of horses, mountains and community.
If you are a group of six people or more, you can also organise a own horseback ride around Reineskarvet or in other parts of Skarvheimen. Get in touch here for customisation!
Stay in the centre of the mountain adventure
Accommodation is offered in comfortable apartments and cabins at Skarslia Apartments & Cabins, right by the riding centre. Here you can enjoy the mountains both before and after your ride, all year round.
