Fishing

Imagine roasting self-caught mountain trout over a campfire by a quiet mountain lake or river, surrounded by majestic mountains and fresh mountain air. In Ål in Hallingdal you'll find around 50 fishing lakes.

In Ål you can fish in both rivers and mountain lakes, whether you prefer forest terrain or high mountains. Several of the fishing spots are also adapted for wheelchair users and families with children. At Hesttjørn in Ridalen (Torpo), you'll find both a jetty and a campfire site. It's easy to access with a wheelchair, and the area is ideal for families with children.

Fishing licences can be purchased at inatur.no, where you will also find information about seasons and rules. In some areas you can buy maps from boxes along roads and trails.
