Both trout and char are found here, and fishing from land is permitted throughout the season. In the winter, there is ice fishing, while the summer offers easily accessible fishing from land.

- Summer season: 20 June - 8 September
- During the summer, fishing is only permitted from land.
- The fishing licence is only valid for one line/rod per person. No other gear is allowed
- Winter season: 26 December - 12 May.
- ATTENTION! Make sure the ice is safe before you go out on it!
Fishing tips
In mountain lakes, small lures, spinners and worms can provide good summer catches. When ice fishing for char, the combination of mormyshka, lure and maggot is well documented. Fishing early in the morning or late in the evening can also increase the chances of catching char and trout.
Access & parking
Summer: Take the toll road to Toviken and park at Osestølen. From here it's a short walk to the water.
Winter: Parking is available at Slakteplassen, with walking distance further into the water. Access is easy and clear, but check the ice conditions if you are going ice fishing.
Accommodation
There are several good places to stay near Rødungen Nord:
- Rødungstølen Mountain Hotel is located right by the water and has rooms with views of Rødungen and the surrounding mountains. It's a short distance to Olavatnet, which is adapted for children and people with reduced mobility.
- Bergsjøstølen Mountain Lodge offers rooms, sauna with views, hot tub and canoe, rowing boat and bicycle hire.
- Skarslia Apartment has apartments in quiet surroundings, with bike and fishing equipment hire - great for families.
All three are close to fishing lakes, hiking trails and mountain areas.
