Zone 2 in Kvinda consists of the stretches of river on either side of the fly zone. The upper part runs from Stokksennvatnet to Rudhølen, and the lower part from Nysethølen down to the confluence with the Hallingdal river. Fishing with flies, worms and spinners is permitted here.
Several small streams and inflows provide a stable supply of water to the river, and in this zone you'll find both calm sections and steeper drops. The most popular area is downstream of Nysethølen, where the water falls more steeply and forms many small caves under the waterfalls. There are often nice fish between the rocks here. Upstream of Rudhølen there is less water flow, but here too there are good opportunities for fishing in streams and pools.
Fishing licence
There is no limit to the number of fishing licences for Zone 2. The licence can be purchased at inatur.no.

There is unlimited card sales in Zone 2.
All trout under 25 cm must be killed.
The trout should have first priority in the river - not the fisherman.
Fishing tips
Ground fishing is recommended in Zone 2. Remember to clamp down the barbs so that fish over 25 cm that are released again suffer as little damage as possible.
Access and practical info
Kvinda is easily accessible via Nasalivegen, with access from Kvinnegardslia. The river consists of two fishing zones:
- Zone 1 extends from Rudhølen to Jøtohølen and is reserved for upstream fly fishing.
- Zone 2 is located on both sides of Zone 1 - i.e. from Stokksennvatnet to Rudhølen, and from Jøtohølen down to the Hallingdal River. Fishing with flies, worms and spinners is permitted here.
The most relevant area in Zone 2 is the stretch downstream of Nysethølen, where the river falls more steeply and forms several small hollows. Here there are often fish between the rocks, especially in the current sections. Access to the river is good, and it's a short walk from car to water along much of the stretch. Remember that wading is only permitted at marked fords.

Topcamp Hallingdal is the closest accommodation to Kvinda, offering modern cabins and good camping facilities. Another option is Ål Camping, which has a simpler standard with tent pitches and campervan parking. Both are located at Hallingdalselva, where there is also good fishing.
