Trout fishing in Buhovdvatnet, Torpo

Buhovdvatnet is located in the hilly landscape above Torpo in Ål, and is a quiet and easily accessible fishing lake with a good trout population. Here you can enjoy a natural fishing experience in beautiful surroundings.

The water is located in mountainous terrain on Oppheimsåsen/Torpoåsen, and has a steady supply of trout of varying sizes. The area is well suited to family-friendly trips.

Fishing licence

Fishing licences are sold for the day, week and season. Fishing licences can be purchased via Inatur.no. There is no limit to the number of cards sold.

Fishing rules

Fishing must take place in accordance with local regulations. There is no quota and all common sport fishing gear is permitted, unless otherwise stated at the water's edge.

Fishing tips

Based on general experience of high-mountain fishing in Hallingdal, small lures and spinners work well for active fishing along the banks. Worms are particularly suited to calm bays and inlets. Early morning and late evening often provide the best conditions.

Directions

Take the exit from motorway 7 towards Torpo and continue towards Oppheim. After 4.2 km, turn left, then right after 400 metres towards Torpoåsen. Follow Nørdre Volelivegen for about 10 kilometres. Buhovdvatnet is then on your left. Parking is possible near the road.
