Exhibition optimisation: The blue hour
Per Ove Sødal - painting and graphics
Katarina Kjelland - ceramics

In this summer's exhibition The blue hour We meet two artists who, each in their own way, explore the space between the visible and the sensed.

Per Ove Sødal draws inspiration from the sea, harbours and fishing villages - the landscape that surrounds him in southern Norway. In his paintings, he creates an expression that balances between inner and outer reality, made up of simple geometric shapes, mystery and wonder. Sødal works with both painting and lithography, and has learnt printmaking at Myren Grafikk and Kristiansand Grafiske Verksted - among others with Kjell Nupen as his mentor.

Katarina Kjelland works with ceramics in a range between function and art. She utilises various firing methods - from electric to wood firing and raku - and works with local materials to create unique surfaces and expressions. With her workshop in Kristiansand, she creates timeless objects in stoneware that range from utilitarian objects to sculptural forms and light installations.

The exhibition runs from 14 June to 24 August 2025.
