A snow fur coat may resemble a traditional sheepskin coat, but the difference is that the animal is still alive. Instead of using leather, the wool is felted directly into a skin. The result is soft, warm and beautiful - almost like a leather coat, but made in an animal-friendly way. Snällfell is used as a sleeping mat, interior and decoration, combining traditional craftsmanship with sustainable values.
The course is led by Kristina Ek, who brings her beautiful blacknose traps to Norway. Throughout the day, you'll learn step-by-step how to felt your own fell, while enjoying a sociable and relaxing day on the farm. Working with natural wool is both calming and rewarding - a method that is kind to both animals and humans.
The course starts at 09.00 and lasts all day (approx. 7 hours). During the course, a local lunch will be served in a cottage on the farm, as well as coffee, tea, drinks and cake.
Practical tips: Dress for the weather, feel free to bring an extra change of clothes, and wear high rubber boots if you have them. For those who need accommodation, this can be offered at a nice price.
