The Senior University: Lecture with Jørgen Watne Frydnes

Jørgen Watne Frydnes is Secretary General of Norwegian PEN, the Norwegian branch of the worldwide organisation for writers working on freedom of expression. He has over 20 years of experience working with democracy, human rights and humanitarian issues.

Previously, he was general manager at Utøya, where he spearheaded the reconstruction after the terrorist attack in 2011. He is a member and now the youngest ever chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, a board member of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee and chair of the board of the Archive Peace and Human Rights Centre.

Watne Frydnes also has extensive experience from MSF, and has studied political science in Oslo and international politics in York. In his lecture, he shares insights and reflections on peace, democracy and freedom of expression - topics that affect us all.
