Previously, he was general manager at Utøya, where he spearheaded the reconstruction after the terrorist attack in 2011. He is a member and now the youngest ever chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, a board member of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee and chair of the board of the Archive Peace and Human Rights Centre.
