Lausdansen, also known as Hallingdansen, has been danced in Hallingdal for hundreds of years. It is a powerful and expressive dance with deep roots in rural culture - and it has never been just for men.
Through an engaging history lesson, Gunnlaug Lien Myhr will take us through 400 years of lausdans, highlighting both known and unknown dancers from Hallingdal. You'll get an insight into how both men and women have been part of this dance tradition - and how the dance has developed through the generations.
The event is part of Folkemusikkveka and is organised in collaboration with Ål Historielag.
