It's a great event when two of Norway's foremost visual artists, Hanne Borchgrevink and Tore Hansen, is coming to Ål to exhibit his work in the barn at Tolleivsgarden during the festival Guest games 2025. And the opening will be marked with nothing less than a world premiere of a new work by Cecilie Løveid - one of the country's most important and award-winning playwrights and poets.
Løveid has written a commissioned work inspired by Borchgrevink's characteristic paintings of houses - a work that will be performed live in collaboration with three outstanding musicians: Maja S. K. Ratkje, Frode Haltli and Lene Grenager. This will be a sensory experience out of the ordinary, at the intersection of text, image and sound.
The evening will also feature artistic contributions from Margit and Martin Myhrand there will be a celebration with cured meats and bubbles in the glass.
About the artists:
- Hanne Borchgrevink paints houses - seemingly simple, but charged, vibrant and enigmatic. She is known for her strong grasp of form, colour and perspective.
- Tore Hansen brings the forest and man into art, with roots in the figurative and poetic.
- Cecilie Løveid is a pioneering writer known for her lyrical and scenic language.
- Maja S. K. Ratkje, Frode Haltli and Lene Grenager are all key names in Norwegian contemporary music and improvisation, and elevate Løveid's text with their unique expressions.
