e is the world's most widespread drink after water - but how much do we actually know about tea culture in this country? During Gjestespel 2025, we'll be taking a journey into the history, flavours and rituals of tea. Tedragen in Bergen is coming to Ål with hand-picked exclusive tea from China and Taiwan, and invites you to a sensory and educational tea experience in the barn at Tolleivsgarden.
This hour we transform the barn room into an intimate tea house, with tasting, knowledge and artistic elements from Hans Hulbækmo, Maja Ratkje and Hild Borchgrevink. We learn about the origins of tea, brewing techniques and get to taste several varieties of high quality - carefully selected by some of the foremost tea experts in the country.
At 19:30 the evening continued with the poetry concert "Hiking", a strong and sensuous work by Sigmund Løvåsen, Frode Haltli and Erlend Apneseth. Here, text, accordion and harding fiddle intertwine to create a moving journey - about walking, searching, fleeing and longing. With Tore Hansen's evocative painting as a backdrop and with presence in every word and tone, this will be a highlight of the festival.
The work "Vandring" was originally written for Dei Nynorske Festspela in 2021 and has since moved audiences around the country. The music alternates between the quiet and the wild, between listening and overwhelming intimacy.
