Two powerful musical voices come together for the very first time - and the audience gets to experience it up close in the intimate barn at Tolleivsgarden, in the middle of a summer evening in Ål. This will be a rare concert experience.
Sinikka Langeland, kantelevirtuos and rune singer from Grue Finnskog, has been widely recognised both in Norway and internationally for a number of years. With her strong musical roots and innovative expression, she has created a sound world all her own. Through collaboration with ECM, she has developed a tonal language where folk music meets both jazz and classical music, and her latest work Wind and Sun includes settings of poets such as Hans Børli and Jon Fosse.
Per Anders Buen Garnås is one of the country's foremost hardingfelespelemenn. He has won Landskappleiken six times - most recently in 2024 - and has a long track record as a concert artist at home and abroad. With several award-winning solo albums, a deep knowledge of the fiddle tradition, and an expression that is both powerful and nuanced, he carries on the legacy of one of the country's most famous folk music families.
This evening is supported by Gol spel- og dansarlag.
