The festival Guest appearance, which explores the interaction between different art forms, will be held for the second time in the barn at Tolleivsgarden in Ål - 31 July to 3 August 2025. This is a rare opportunity to experience world-class art up close - in an intimate and exclusive festival format.

This year's theme is HUSLYD, inspired by visual artist Hanne Borchgrevink's album HOUSE, where she invited some of the country's leading musicians to set her images to music. During Gjestespel, this artistic encounter comes alive again - with several of the original performers, her paintings and the audience gathered under the same barn roof.

The festival also features newly commissioned works by authors Cecilie Løveid, an exhibition of Tore Hansen, tea tasting, family dayand several unique experiences where different expressions meet in the same room.

There is a limited number of tickets per event - so we recommend booking well in advance. Tickets will soon be available via Ål kulturhus' website.

The guest performance is supported by Arts Council Norway, Fritt Ord and Ål municipality, and is organised in collaboration with Fryd Scene and Rivjødn by Rannveig Øygardslia.
