About the budei course

In this course, we take you back to the basics of food production and you'll learn how to milk, cook, bake, core and, not least, taste! We'll be making sour cream, butter, cheese, sour cream porridge and several other local dishes from Skarvheimen. Participants will also be able to take part in tending the cows.

You'll stay comfortably at Iungsdalshytta in Skarvheimen, and you'll have the opportunity to go on hikes to see nuthatches, cormorants and beautiful valleys when there are breaks in the hut work.

Ingrid Marit Bermingrud Terum and Marte Sandø Lund are the course instructors.

Where: Iungsdalshytta. The cabin is idyllically located by Iungsdalsvatnet lake in the north of Hallingskarvet, where Iungsdalen and Fødalen meet.

Attendance: Thursday 07 August at 13.00 at the cabin. The hike from Toviki (P) to Iungsdalshytta is a nice walk of 4 km. Possibility of boat transport if booked in advance. On the cabin's website you can read more about how to get to Iungsdalshytta.

The tour package includes: Course management and two overnight stays with DNT pension at Iungsdalshytta (breakfast, snacks and three-course dinner) and lunch on the first day.

A hiking map covering the area is Turkart Skarvheimen 1:50 000.  Check ut.no for updated map and route information. Maps can be purchased at DNT Oslo og Omegn's Hiking Centre in Oslo, at Iungsdalshytta or at DNT's online shop.

Special conditions apply

Special cancellation terms apply to this trip and replace section. 9 in DNT's general terms and conditions for participation. The following rules apply to cancellations.

• In the event of cancellation 14 days or more before the start date, the entire participation fee will be refunded with the exception of an administration fee of NOK. 300,- per booking. This fee also applies to changes to the booking.
• In case of cancellation 13-0 days before the start date or no-show: No participation fee will be refunded.
