Halvor Folgerø - Ferjefolket

In Hallingdal, ferries are few and far between, but just a short trip across the plateau and you'll be waiting for one of these vessels that are both loved and hated. The ferries have always been part of the West Norwegian folk soul, but are slowly being replaced by bridges and tunnels.

In the book The ferry people Halvor Folgerø has travelled from Smøla in the north to Stavanger in the south to meet the people who live and work on the ferries. Here you will find stories of everyday life and humour, storm and calm, love and drama - told with warmth and a twinkle in the eye. The book has been brilliantly received and was one of the autumn's bestsellers.

During the lecture, Folgerø will share the best stories and show beautiful photos from the journey. Afterwards, you can buy signed copies.

The event is free of charge - Secure your seat with a free ticket in eBillett or at the culture centre desk.
