The pole hunt is on - the first person to take all the poles before 9am!

Ål, Thursday 9 May: The 2025 pole hunt is officially underway, and the enthusiasm is not long in coming. As early as 6am this morning, the first two maps were opened - one around Ål town centre and one in Torpo. By the time the clock struck nine, one eager participant had already managed to find all 73 poles!

The tips are not ranked, but follow the festival programme chronologically - we start with the first event and end with the last.

It was Geir Ove Buseth who shared the news on Thursday morning:

"Hello! Just wanted to let you know that the first two maps in Stolpejakten opened today at 6am. There is a map around Ål Sentrum and a map in Torpo. Even before 9am today, the first person had already taken all 73 poles"
- Geir Ove Buseth

At the top of the list is now Strendo clinic in first place together with several other participants who have collected all the poles. The commitment is clear, and the competition is already underway. Now it remains to be seen who will keep the momentum going throughout the season.

Pole hunting is a low-threshold activity that combines physical activity, nature experience and local exploration. Using a map and app, participants find "poles" placed around the municipality - and compete to collect as many as possible. Have you downloaded the app and got out there yet?
