First Sunday in Advent - Christmas tree lighting and light walk at Sundre
On the first Sunday of Advent, Kulturkommunen Ål, Visit Ål and Ål Handelsforening invite you to the traditional Christmas tree lighting at Sundre. This is an atmospheric event that brings together young and old for a cosy start to the Advent season. The Christmas tree is lit in the square, and the audience is invited to sing and dance around the tree before the evening continues with a beautiful light walk down to Ål cultural centre.
Santa, mulled wine and a small mini-concert await you at the culture centre. Christmas at Sundre has become a cherished tradition that marks the start of the festive season, and in addition to the outdoor event dance performances SNE inside the culture centre. Bring a lantern and warm mittens and join us for a pleasant pre-Christmas evening in the centre of Ål.
6 December at 10.00 Christmas market with Ål husflidslag at Sundrehall
The pre-Christmas season is underway, and Ål Husflidslag invites you to this year's Christmas market in Sundrehall. This is the perfect opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit and get your Christmas shopping done in a cosy and local way. Stop by and do your Christmas shopping in cosy surroundings. Here you'll find traditional handicrafts and handmade products that are suitable both as gifts and decorations in the run-up to Christmas. The event is open to anyone who wants a good and easy start to their Christmas preparations.
6 December at 16.00 Gjermund Larsen Trio - Christmas sessions at Operalåven
On Saturday 6 December, the Gjermund Larsen Trio invites you to an atmospheric Christmas concert at Operalåven in Ål. The audience will experience warm and beautiful interpretations of well-known Christmas carols, performed with folk musical nerve and genuine joy of playing. The Gjermund Larsen Trio has won a number of awards, including the Spellemann Prize in 2008, the German Phonographic Critics Award in 2015 and the TONO Composer Prize in 2016. Their music is known for conveying both tradition and hope - and in this concert, the audience will meet exactly that.
