We know that many people have wanted this to come to Ål, and now we are proud to welcome Geilo Husky.
Dog sledding on wheels
For many people, dog sledding is closely associated with winter and snow. With specially built carriages, it is now possible to experience the activity in autumn too. The dogs pull the carriages along gravel roads and trails in the high mountains, and the participants get to take part in a trip that gives a feeling of real dog sledding, only without the snow.
The hikes take place in some of Norway's most beautiful mountain terrain, with views of Reineskarvet, Skarvheimen, Hallingskarvet and Dyna. Autumn is perhaps the best time to be outdoors in this area, with fresh air, bright colours and good conditions for both people and dogs.
Dog sledding on wheels is an activity suitable for both young and old. No prior knowledge is required - you receive instruction on site and are well looked after by experienced guides.
Dog sledding in the autumn is something a little out of the ordinary, and for many it's a completely new experience. Here at Visit Ål, we've been on the trip ourselves and can promise that this is an activity suitable for families, groups of friends and visitors alike.
