The concert is a musical journey through works by Edvard Grieg, Henrik Ibsen and Agathe Backer Grøndahl. Grieg's famous music from Peer Gynt meets Backer Grøndahl's enigmatic suite I Blaafjellet. Together, the works open up a landscape filled with mountains, sorcery, humour, darkness and homecoming.

The production presents Peer Gynt as a character that one can recognise oneself in. He embellishes the truth, but must ultimately face himself.

The grand piano in the Opera Barn is a 120-year-old, newly restored Steinway. The instrument will play a central role when the two pianists Monica Tomescu Rohde and Shannon Wettstein Sadler perform together.
