Carpenters' evening in the Opera Barn

On Friday, 22nd May at 6:00 PM, a Timber Evening is invited to the Opera Barn. The evening will focus on the timber walls in the barn, which many guests notice, and will provide an insight into the history behind the logs, timber operations in Hallingdal, and the craftsmanship involved.

The evening opens with a lecture by Gudbrand Gulsvik from Hallingskog, who will talk about timber and timber extraction in Hallingdal. Afterwards, Steinar Sørbøen will take the audience into the history behind the logs in the barn and how they were put in place. Finally, there will be a story about when city boy Espen Liane learned the art of log-building his own house.

Between acts, there will be interval activities such as counting tree rings, lifting logs, and perhaps some tall tales. Coffee and light refreshments are included in the entrance fee, and the bar will be open throughout the evening.

This is an evening for those interested in timber, logging, and traditional crafts.
