Vats Mountain Church was completed in 1990 and was designed by architect Elisabet Fidjestøl. The church interior has around one hundred and forty seats, and the warm wood and spacious view give a feeling of both openness and closeness. Its location by Rødungen makes the church a popular stopping point for tourists, both in summer and winter.
Today, Vats Mountain Church is used for a number of regular events throughout the year. Services are held during the winter season, at Easter, on Christmas Eve and during parts of the summer months. These gatherings bring together locals, cabin owners and guests in the area who wish for a moment of celebration in the mountains. The church is also used for concerts, small cultural events and church activities that create engagement and community in the mountain areas around Bergsjø.
