The natural cathedral is built as an open church space where the sky acts as a roof and the horizon forms a natural altarpiece. The area is surrounded by low stone walls that frame the space and create an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. In the walls there are six small chapel caves where visitors can light candles for prayer, reflection or gratitude.
Sangefjell Nature Cathedral is a place that invites you to slow down, reflect and be close to nature. It is used for open-air church services, weddings, concerts and other gatherings, but also serves as a peaceful hiking destination for locals and visitors alike. Its location at an altitude of just under 1,000 metres makes hiking there a natural experience in itself, with panoramic views of valleys and mountain ranges.
