Himmelleite has developed a distinctive sound in which the subdued and intimate meets the grand and majestic. The langeleik, which has lived for at least 500 years in Norway, is given new vigour in combination with the many sounds of the organ. In addition, the concert is enriched with elements of both song and kravik lyre.
The repertoire this evening is based on folk music from Gudbrandsdalen and Valdres, but with Himmelleite's own arrangements and musical attire. The audience can also hope for small musical drips from Hallingdal - performed with sensitivity, power and playfulness.
