When \u00c5l is visited by three musicians of the highest international calibre, the door to this world opens. The audience is given a rare opportunity to experience the music as it was originally intended, performed on the instruments for which it was written in the early 1900s. The result is a sonic universe where nature, poetry, and musical finesse go hand in hand.<\/p>\n
The concert brings together music by three composers, each with their own distinctive voice. Claude Debussy represents the master of Impressionism. Mel Bonis, long forgotten, emerges today as one of the most original composers of her time, combining the dreamlike with strong emotional power. Lili Boulanger was a musical prodigy who left a deep mark on music history before she passed away at a young age.<\/p>\n
The programme ranges from intimate lullabies and lyrical night scenes to sparkling impressionistic works and one of the most significant chamber music sonatas for flute, viola and harp from the 20th century.<\/p>\n
For this repertoire, Norwegian musicians Torun Torbo and Mari Giske are joined by German harpist Eva Curth, who plays an original 1893 \u00c9rard harp.<\/p>\n
