Through shared goals, actions, and commitment, we are working to ensure that \u00c5l remains an authentic and vibrant mountain village, where nature and the local community are closely linked.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading --><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:list --><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul><!-- wp:list-item --><\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d01ccb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3d01ccb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In 2022, \u00c5l, along with Gol, Hemsedal and Nesbyen, was certified as a Sustainable Destination according to Innovation Norway's standard. This does not mean that we are finished, but that we are committed to improving year by year. Every three years, our work is reassessed and we must document progress in the areas of nature, the environment, culture, social values and local value creation.<\/p>\n<h2>Plans and surveys<\/h2>\n<p>Tourism is very important for the local community in \u00c5l and contributes to jobs, activity and a wider range of offerings for both residents and visitors. At the same time, it is important that development happens in balance, so that \u00c5l remains a good place to live, even when we have many guests. The resident survey shows that a clear majority do not find \u00c5l to be overcrowded, and that few point to areas that are negatively affected by visitors. Therefore, we base our strategy on three important sources of knowledge: the resident survey, the guest and cabin survey, and the member survey. Here, authentic products such as food, art, and experiences are produced, rooted in nature and our history. We look after the mountain pastures, trails, and mountains \u2013 not just for our guests, but because they are part of our everyday lives.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2055\" data-end=\"2279\">We work to make it easy for both residents and visitors to experience nature without leaving a trace. Our focus on trail cycling, hiking and mountain hut operations contributes to year-round activity and experiences that create ripple effects locally.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2281\" data-end=\"2335\">We must develop, but always on nature's terms.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2337\" data-end=\"2363\">Environmental certification in \u00c5l<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2365\" data-end=\"2651\">Visit \u00c5l \/ \u00c5l Utvikling is certified as a Green Business, and we are working to help more local businesses achieve the same.
